Pre-order starts for Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge

Samsung has started taking pre-orders for its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in UK. Both the devices are slated to be released on April 10.

Just as Samsung promised earlier this week, pre-orders are now being accepted for its flagship Galaxy S6 smartphone and curved-screened Galaxy S6 Edge.

While yet to start taking orders, Samsung has revealed pricign details for entry-level 32GB Galaxy S6 and 64GB Galaxy S6 Edge models, which will cost £599.99 and £760, respectively. Pricing for the higher-capacity models hasn’t yet been revealed, but we’ve been in touch with Samsung for more information.

The firm has revealed however that who order from Samsung directly will be able to pick up their smartphone a day early on 9 April.

For those looking to pick up a Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge on contract, we’ve rounded up the best deals below.

EE

E is selling the Galaxy S6 in black, white and gold, and is offering the 32GB and 64GB models.

EE’s ‘recommended tariff’ will bag you the 32GB Galaxy S6 for £49.99 on a £43.49 tariff, which comes with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 4GB data. The cheapest offer comes in at £32 a month and gets you 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB data, but the phone will cost £200 upfront.

For those after the 64GB model, EE is recommending its £53.49 per month tariff, which comes with an upfront cost of £49.99, along with unlimited minutes and texts and 10GB data.

EE is also offering the 64GB Galaxy S6 Edge, which can be picked up on the same £53.49 tariff but with 20GB included data.

O2

O2 is offering the Galaxy S6 in black, white and gold options, and with a choice of 32GB or 64GB storage for pre-order on its website and over the phone. The 128GB model is yet to go on sale.

The 32GB Galaxy S6 can be picked up for £99 in a £38 per month tariff with unlimited minutes and texts and 2GB data. For those after more data, the Galaxy S6 can be bought for £49 on £43 or £48 tariffs, which come with 5GB or 20GB data, respectively.
These tariffs increase to £48 and £53 for the 64GB model, and it can also be picked up for £79 on a £43 tariff with 2GB data.

The Galaxy S6 Edge is also available to pre-order in black, white or gold, and O2 is currently only offering the 64GB model. Prices start at £99 on a £48 tariff with 2GB data, or it can be picked up for £79 on a £53 tariff with 5GB data or £69 on a £58 contract with 20GB.

O2 is also offering a free Fitbit Charge to those who pre-order either handset.

Tesco Mobile

MVNO Tesco Mobile currently has the cheapest deals available, but has yet to start taking pre-orders. Orders will open on 7 April.

It tells us that the 32GB Galaxy S6 will be available for free on a £36 per month tariff, complete with 1,000 minutes, 5,000 texts and 2GB data. Users can up this to 3GB, 6GB or 8GB, costing £39.50, £46.50 and £49, respectively.

The Galaxy S6 Edge can be picked up on the same tariffs, but these are more expensive at £43.50, £47, £54 and £56.50.

Three

Three has yet to start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, but we’ll update this when it does.

Vodafone

Vodafone has become the first operator to offer the Galaxy S6 in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants, and it is currently selling black, white and gold models.
Pricing for the 32GB model starts at £43.50 per month with no upfront cost, which comes with unlimited minutes and texts and 2GB monthly data. This can be upped to 4GB for £48.50 per month.

For the 64GB model these tariffs increase to £48.50 and £53.50, while the 128GB model can be picked up for £19 on a £53.50 per month tariff with 4GB data.

Vodafone is also offering the S6 Edge in both 64GB and 128GB models. Pricing for the lower-capacity model starts at £48.50, while the 128GB version is available on the same £53.50 tariff as the Galaxy S6.

Carphone Warehouse

Retailer Carphone Warehouse has started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S6and Galaxy S6 Edge on tariffs with EE, O2 and Vodafone, and is throwing in a free wireless charger to those who order through its website.
